Job DescriptionJob Title: Security Guard - Full Time Overnight
Location: Downtown Victoria, BC
Position Type: Full-Time
Wage: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
Schedule: Variable shifts available, including:
- Tuesday to Saturday - 2300 to 0700
About the Role
Allied Universal is hiring Security Guards to join our team at a high-traffic retail mall in downtown Victoria, a key location in the city's retail and tourism landscape. Our security team plays an essential role in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for guests, staff, and retailers.
As a Security Guard, you will serve as a visible security presence, respond to incidents, and deliver excellent customer service while protecting people, property, and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol the mall and surrounding property to ensure safety and security
- Monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
- Respond to emergencies, alarms, and public safety incidents
- Interact with guests and retailers, assisting with general inquiries
- Write accurate and professional incident and shift reports
- Enforce site-specific rules, policies, and procedures
- Liaise with emergency services when needed
- Assist with lost & found, first aid, and crowd control as required
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid BC Security Worker License
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must be eligible for Reliability Clearance (i.e., have resided in Canada for the past 5 consecutive years)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Physically fit - able to conduct foot patrols and stand for extended periods
- Professional, reliable, and customer-service focused
- Previous experience in security, retail, or hospitality is an asset
