The Thunderbird is a powerful and respected being in Anishinaabe culture; thunder is caused by the beating of the Thunderbird’s immense wings.
Our logo was created by Coast Salish artist, Andrew (Enpaauk) Dexel from the Nlaka'pamux Nation. It is a transcultural piece that nods to Animikii’s foundation in Anishinaabe values, while being headquartered on lək̓ʷəŋən territory. Andrew is known for his original paintings and modern interpretations of traditional forms, stories, and teachings.
